Anthem Biosciences Reports Healthy Q1 FY27 Profitability with 39.6% EBITDA Margin
CRDMO business contributes over 81% of revenue as the company maintains a strong cash position and expects stronger H2 FY27 deliveries
Anthem Biosciences Limited (NSE: ANTHEM | BSE: 544449) has released the transcript of its earnings conference call for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). The company reported healthy profitability despite the timing of product deliveries affecting quarterly revenue recognition. Management reiterated that underlying business demand remains strong and expects a higher volume of deliveries during the second half of FY27.
Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights
Anthem Biosciences continued to deliver industry-leading profitability, supported by its high-margin Contract Research, Development and Manufacturing Organization (CRDMO) business.

- CRDMO Revenue: ₹341 crore, contributing 81.5% of total revenue.

CRDMO Business Remains the Key Growth Driver
The company’s CRDMO segment continued to be its largest revenue contributor, generating more than four-fifths of total quarterly revenue. The Specialty Ingredients business also delivered a meaningful contribution, reflecting Anthem’s diversified business model.
Management indicated that revenue during the quarter was impacted primarily by the timing of product deliveries rather than any slowdown in customer demand. Several deliveries are scheduled for the second half of FY27, which is expected to support stronger revenue growth in the coming quarters.
Management Commentary
During the earnings call, Ajay Bhardwaj, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, stated that customer demand across both business segments remains robust. He noted that the softer first-quarter revenue was largely attributable to shipment timing, while the company’s order pipeline and business outlook remain healthy.
The company expects a higher concentration of deliveries during the second half of FY27, which should support improved revenue momentum.
Strong Margins and Healthy Balance Sheet
Anthem Biosciences continued to report one of the strongest profitability profiles in the industry. Management attributed the healthy EBITDA and PAT margins to disciplined cost management, process improvements, yield optimization, and continued productivity enhancements across its manufacturing operations.
With a net cash balance of ₹1,720 crore, the company remains well-capitalized to fund future expansion projects, increase manufacturing capacity, and pursue long-term growth opportunities.
