Bharat Electronics Limited Reports 25% Revenue Growth in Q1 FY27; Order Book at ₹72,258 Crore

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has released the transcript of its Q1 FY27 earnings conference call, highlighting strong revenue growth, healthy profitability, and a robust order pipeline that provides long-term business visibility. The state-owned defence electronics major continues to benefit from sustained execution across key defence programmes, increased indigenous manufacturing, and a steady flow of new orders from the Indian Armed Forces.

Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Bharat Electronics reported healthy operational performance across key financial parameters.

  • Revenue from Operations: ₹5,533 crore, up 25.3% year-on-year (YoY) from ₹4,417 crore.
  • Profit Before Tax (PBT): ₹1,403 crore, an increase of 8.8% YoY compared with ₹1,289 crore.
  • Profit After Tax (PAT): ₹1,048 crore, up 8.2% YoY from ₹969 crore.
  • EBITDA Margin: Maintained a healthy 25.83%.
  • Earnings Per Share (EPS): Improved to ₹1.43, compared with ₹1.33 in Q1 FY26.

The company’s strong revenue growth reflects steady execution of defence contracts, while healthy margins demonstrate continued operational efficiency despite a higher execution pace.

Robust Order Book Strengthens Revenue Visibility

BEL continues to maintain one of the strongest order books in the Indian defence sector, providing significant long-term revenue visibility.

Order Book Highlights

  • Total Order Book: ₹72,258 crore as of July 1, 2026.
  • New Orders Received in Q1 FY27: ₹3,754 crore.

The large order backlog is supported by contracts across defence electronics, radar systems, communication equipment, missile systems, naval solutions, electronic warfare systems, and other strategic programmes for the Indian Armed Forces.

Focus on Indigenous Defence Manufacturing

During the earnings call, the management reiterated its commitment to strengthening India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities through continuous investment in research & development, advanced technologies, and localization initiatives.

BEL continues to play a key role in supporting the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative by developing and manufacturing advanced defence electronics systems domestically while also expanding its export presence.
