International Gemological Institute Delivers Strong Q1 FY27 Performance with 23% Revenue Growth

International Gemological Institute Limited (IGIL) has released the transcript of its Q1 FY27 earnings conference call held on July 23, 2026, highlighting a strong start to the financial year. The company delivered robust growth, supported by expanding certification capacity, rising demand for lab-grown diamond (LGD) certifications, and strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening its global leadership in gemstone certification.

Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights

International Gemological Institute reported a 23% year-on-year (YoY) increase in revenue during the first quarter, reflecting sustained demand across its certification services.

The company’s EBITDA grew 29% YoY, driven by operational efficiencies, disciplined cost management, and operating leverage.

Growth was led by strong performance across multiple certification categories, including:

  • Lab-Grown Diamond (LGD) Loose Stones
  • Lab-Grown Diamond Jewelry
  • Colored Gemstone Certifications

Expanding Opportunity in Lab-Grown Diamonds

Speaking during the earnings call, Managing Director and CEO Tehmasp Printer said the continued expansion of lab-grown diamond production and increasing global consumer acceptance are significantly enlarging the addressable market for independent certification services.

He noted that as participation across the diamond ecosystem grows, independent third-party certification plays an increasingly important role in building consumer trust, ensuring transparency, and facilitating accurate price discovery throughout the diamond value chain.

Strategic Growth Initiatives

The company also highlighted the successful integration of American Gemological Laboratories (AGL), acquired earlier this year to strengthen its gemstone certification capabilities in the United States. Management confirmed that AGL has already begun contributing to the company’s financial performance.

In addition, IGIL continues to focus on expanding its market share in natural loose diamond certifications, alongside its leadership in the rapidly growing lab-grown diamond segment.
