Consolidated Q1 FY27 Earnings
Praj Industries reported consolidated operating income of ₹715.8 crore in Q1 FY27, up 11.8% year-on-year. Consolidated EBITDA stood at ₹30 crore, down 4.5% YoY, while EBITDA margin was 4.19%. Consolidated PAT increased sharply to ₹11.6 crore, compared with ₹5.3 crore in Q1 FY26, representing growth of 118.9%.
Bioenergy remained the largest segment, contributing 66% of Q1 FY27 revenue, followed by Engineering at 22% and HiPurity at 12%.
Strong Order Book
Praj Industries had an order backlog of ₹4,589 crore at the end of Q1 FY27. The company received ₹1,000 crore of order intake during the quarter. Bioenergy accounted for 77% of the order backlog, Engineering 18% and HiPurity 5%.
Future Growth Plans
Praj is looking to expand beyond traditional ethanol through its Bio-Prism platform, with a focus on sustainable aviation fuel, compressed biogas, biochemicals, renewable chemicals and e-fuels. The company is also investing in R&D and pilot and demonstration facilities to commercialise next-generation technologies.
Steps Taken for Future Growth
During Q1 FY27, Praj received an order for India’s first commercial demonstration plant for Bio-IBA and an order for a greenfield grain-to-ethanol plant in Brazil. Its GenX business also signed an exclusive framework agreement for precision fabrication components and modules for hyperscale data-centre infrastructure, representing an estimated ₹500 crore opportunity over the next two and a half years. The company also received an order from a semiconductor player for ultra-pure water and ZLD solutions.
Praj has also inaugurated the Dr. Pramod Chaudhari Centre of Excellence for Advanced Bioeconomy at Savitribai Phule Pune University, aimed at research, innovation, education and industry collaboration in the bioeconomy.
