RailTel Q1 FY27 Results: Net Profit Rises 23% to ₹65.78 Crore, Revenue Crosses ₹893 Crore

RailTel Corporation of India Limited, a Government of India enterprise and one of the country’s leading telecom infrastructure and ICT service providers, reported a healthy financial performance for the first quarter of FY2027. The company posted strong growth in revenue and profitability, driven by steady performance across its Telecom Services and Project Work Services businesses.

The Board of Directors approved the unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, at its meeting held on July 30, 2026.

RailTel Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights

RailTel reported higher revenue and earnings compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

While revenue recorded double-digit growth, net profit remained broadly stable during the quarter, reflecting higher operating expenses and project execution costs.

Revenue Growth Driven by Both Business Segments

RailTel continued to benefit from growth across its two core operating segments.

Telecom Services

The Telecom Services segment generated revenue of ₹360.81 crore, supported by the company’s nationwide optical fibre network, broadband services, leased line connectivity, data centre offerings, and digital solutions for government and enterprise customers.

Project Work Services

The Project Work Services business remained the company’s largest contributor, generating ₹532.46 crore in revenue during the quarter. This segment includes ICT projects, railway modernization initiatives, digital infrastructure development, and implementation of technology solutions for various government organizations.

Healthy Profitability Despite Higher Costs

RailTel reported profit before tax of ₹89.44 crore, almost unchanged from the previous year. During the quarter, the company continued investing in project execution and network expansion, resulting in higher operating expenses.

Despite these investments, RailTel maintained stable profitability while continuing to grow its revenue base.

Strong Balance Sheet

As of June 30, 2026, RailTel reported:

  • Total Assets: ₹5,637.44 crore
  • Capital Employed: ₹2,329.17 crore

The company’s healthy balance sheet provides financial flexibility to support future infrastructure investments and large-scale digital transformation projects.

Expanding India’s Digital Infrastructure

RailTel continues to play an important role in India’s digital infrastructure development through its extensive optical fibre network spread across the country.

The company provides:

  • High-speed broadband connectivity
  • Telecom infrastructure services
  • Data centre and cloud solutions
  • Railway communication systems
  • ICT and e-governance projects
  • Cybersecurity and managed network services

Its dual focus on telecom services and government project execution enables RailTel to benefit from India’s ongoing investments in digital connectivity, smart infrastructure, and public sector modernization.
