SMC Global Securities Limited Reports 21% YoY Revenue Growth in Q1 FY27

Financial services company delivers healthy revenue and profit growth led by broking and insurance distribution businesses

SMC Global Securities Limited (NSE: SMCGLOBAL | BSE: 543263) has released its earnings presentation for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), reporting strong financial performance supported by healthy growth in its core broking, trading, and insurance distribution businesses.

The company posted robust year-on-year growth in revenue and profitability, while continuing to expand its digital trading platform and distribution network across India.

Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights

SMC Global Securities recorded strong growth across key financial metrics during the quarter.

  • Consolidated Revenue: ₹515.1 crore, up 21.2% year-on-year (YoY).
  • EBITDA: ₹107.0 crore, reflecting 6.9% YoY growth and 19.3% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) growth.
  • EBITDA Margin: 20.9%.
  • Profit After Tax (PAT): ₹36.7 crore, up 22.3% YoY and 71.7% QoQ.
  • PAT Margin: 7.1%.

The company attributed the performance to higher activity levels in capital markets, continued growth in insurance distribution, and operational efficiencies.

Broking and Trading Business Remains Core Growth Driver

The Broking, Distribution & Trading segment continued to be the largest contributor to overall revenue.

  • Segment Revenue: ₹316.3 crore, compared with ₹274.9 crore in Q1 FY26, representing 15.1% YoY growth.
  • Segment EBIT: ₹74.3 crore, up 17.6% YoY.
  • Online Broking Penetration: Increased to 75% during the quarter.

The rising share of digital transactions reflects the company’s ongoing focus on technology-led customer acquisition and trading platform adoption.

Insurance Broking Delivers Strong Expansion

SMC’s insurance distribution business posted the strongest growth among its operating segments.

  • Insurance Broking Revenue: ₹167.3 crore, up 44.4% YoY.

Growth was driven by sustained demand across both life and general insurance products and continued expansion of the company’s distribution network.

NBFC Business Focuses on Portfolio Quality

The financing business reported lower revenue as the company adopted a more conservative lending strategy.

  • NBFC Revenue: ₹46.5 crore, down 8.8% YoY.

Management indicated that the moderation was primarily due to tighter underwriting standards and a greater emphasis on maintaining portfolio quality, particularly in unsecured lending.

Expanding Distribution and Banking Partnerships

SMC Global Securities continues to strengthen its national distribution footprint. As of Q1 FY27, the company operated through:

  • 1,935 Authorized Persons
  • Presence across 383 cities
  • 6,360 financial distributors

The company also maintains 3-in-1 banking tie-ups and strategic partnerships with eight major public and private sector banks, including Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India, Central Bank of India, and Indian Overseas Bank, helping drive customer acquisition and digital trading adoption.
