Global Health Limited, which operates the Medanta hospital network, reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of FY2027 (Q1 FY27) while announcing several strategic initiatives, including a major expansion of its upcoming Guwahati hospital, a final dividend, and the appointment of a new Chief Digital Officer.

The company’s Board of Directors approved the quarterly financial results and key business decisions at its meeting held on July 30, 2026.

  • Profit Before Tax: ₹183.11 crore.
  • Net Profit (PAT): ₹137.31 crore.

The strong growth in revenue reflects increasing patient volumes, higher occupancy, and continued demand for advanced healthcare services across Medanta’s hospital network.

Medanta Expands Guwahati Hospital to 650 Beds

One of the biggest announcements from the Board meeting was the revision of Medanta’s expansion plan in Guwahati, Assam.

The company has increased the proposed capacity of its upcoming hospital from 400 beds to 650 beds, making it one of the largest planned tertiary care hospitals in Northeast India.

Key Details of the Expansion

  • Location: Guwahati, Assam
  • Revised Capacity: 650 beds (earlier planned: 400 beds)
  • Estimated Investment: ₹970 crore
  • Completion Timeline: 3–4 years (phased development)
  • Funding: Internal accruals and debt

According to the company, the expansion has become possible due to higher permissible Floor Space Index (FSI) and revised building regulations, allowing a significantly larger healthcare facility.

Why Guwahati?

Medanta believes Guwahati is strategically positioned to serve more than 50 million people across Assam and neighbouring northeastern states.

The hospital will offer over 20 super-specialties, including:

  • Organ transplantation
  • Robotic surgery
  • Advanced oncology
  • Cardiac sciences
  • Neurosciences
  • Critical care
  • Multi-specialty tertiary healthcare

The expansion aims to reduce the need for patients from Northeast India to travel to metro cities for complex medical treatment.

Final Dividend Announced

The Board has fixed August 14, 2026, as the record date to determine shareholders eligible for the final dividend of ₹0.50 per equity share for FY2025-26.

The dividend remains subject to shareholder approval at the company’s 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for September 16, 2026, through video conferencing.

Leadership Strengthened with Chief Digital Officer

Medanta has also appointed Pradeep Kumar Singh as its Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and Senior Management Personnel with effect from July 30, 2026.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in:

  • Digital transformation
  • Enterprise technology
  • Product innovation
  • Engineering leadership
  • Platform development

The appointment reflects Medanta’s growing focus on digital healthcare, technology-enabled patient services, and operational efficiency.

Continued Expansion Strategy

Apart from its existing hospitals in:

  • Gurugram
  • Noida
  • Lucknow
  • Patna
  • Ranchi
  • Indore

Medanta continues to invest aggressively in expanding its healthcare footprint across India.

As of June 30, 2026, the hospital network had an operational capacity of 3,737 beds.

The acquisition of a 79-bed oncology-focused hospital in Indore earlier this year further strengthens the company’s presence in central India.
