Karur Vysya Bank Opens 16 New Branches in a Single Day, Network Reaches 919

Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) has expanded its physical banking network by opening 16 new branches in a single day, strengthening its presence across key markets in southern India and Delhi NCR.

With this expansion, the bank’s total branch network has increased to 919 branches across the country.

Branch Expansion Across Key Markets

The 16 new branches have been opened across five regions:

  • Tamil Nadu: 6 branches
  • Andhra Pradesh: 5 branches
  • Telangana: 3 branches
  • Karnataka: 1 branch
  • Delhi NCR: 1 branch

The expansion covers metropolitan, urban, semi-urban and rural markets, with the new branches targeting retail customers, MSMEs and agricultural businesses.

KVB Expands Alongside Business Growth

The branch expansion comes as Karur Vysya Bank continues to grow its overall banking business.

As of June 30, 2026, the bank’s total business stood at ₹2,27,267 crore, comprising:

  • Deposits: ₹1,22,587 crore
  • Advances: ₹1,04,680 crore

KVB also reported its highest-ever quarterly net profit of ₹756 crore in Q1FY27, providing a strong financial backdrop to the ongoing branch expansion.

Digital Banking Remains a Key Focus

While expanding its physical network, KVB is also continuing to strengthen its digital banking capabilities.

Its KVB DLite mobile banking application offers more than 150 financial and non-financial services, allowing customers to access a broad range of banking services digitally.

The bank is therefore pursuing a combination of physical branch expansion and digital banking, with branches particularly supporting its retail, MSME and agricultural customer base.

Investor Takeaway

The key takeaway from the announcement is KVB’s continued network expansion alongside strong business growth and digital banking development.

The addition of 16 branches takes the network to 919 branches, while the bank’s ₹2.27 lakh crore business and record Q1FY27 net profit indicate the scale supporting its expansion strategy.

For investors, the announcement is primarily a business expansion and network growth development, rather than a standalone earnings trigger.
