ACME Solar Commissions 66.68 MW Solar and 300 MWh BESS Capacity in Rajasthan

ACME Solar Commissions 66.68 MW Solar and 300 MWh BESS Capacity in Rajasthan

ACME Solar Holdings Limited has commissioned 66.68 MW of solar capacity and 300 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Bikaner, Rajasthan, marking another significant expansion of its renewable-energy operating portfolio.

The projects have been commissioned through ACME Solar’s subsidiaries and form part of the company’s growing solar, hybrid and energy-storage portfolio.

With the latest commissioning, ACME Solar said its operational renewable-energy capacity has increased to approximately 3,057 MW, while its operational BESS capacity has crossed the 4 GWh milestone to reach 4.16 GWh.

66.68 MW Solar Capacity Commissioned in Bikaner

ACME Solar, through its subsidiary ACME Renewtech Private Limited, has commissioned Phase-I of its first hybrid renewable-energy project.

The commissioned phase includes 66.68 MW of solar capacity at Kelan Village in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The project is part of a larger hybrid development comprising:

  • 300 MW solar capacity
  • 100 MW wind capacity

The power purchase agreement (PPA) for the project has been signed with NTPC Limited, while long-term project financing has been arranged with Power Finance Corporation (PFC).

ACME Solar expects to commission the entire 300 MW solar capacity by the end of Q3 FY27.

BESS Project Adds 300 MWh of Storage Capacity

Separately, ACME Solar has commissioned Phase-I of a Battery Energy Storage System at the same site.

The BESS project is being developed through subsidiary ACME Greentech Seventh Private Limited and forms part of the company’s firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) portfolio.

The first commissioned phase comprises:

  • 53.63 MW power capacity
  • 300 MWh energy-storage capacity

The total project is planned at 300 MW / 1,581 MWh of BESS capacity.

The PPA for the FDRE project has been signed with SJVN Limited, while REC is providing long-term project financing.

ACME Solar expects to commission the entire BESS capacity by Q3 FY27.

ACME Solar Crosses 4 GWh BESS Milestone

The latest commissioning takes ACME Solar’s operational BESS capacity to 4.16 GWh, crossing the company’s 4 GWh operational milestone.

This is an important development as battery storage becomes increasingly relevant to India’s renewable-energy ecosystem.

Solar and wind generation can fluctuate depending on weather and time of day. Large-scale battery storage can help renewable-energy developers deliver electricity during periods when generation is unavailable or insufficient.

The company’s FDRE project is particularly relevant in this context because it is designed around assured power supply rather than generation from a single intermittent renewable source.

Operational Portfolio Reaches Around 3,057 MW

Following the commissioning, ACME Solar’s operational renewable-energy portfolio stands at approximately 3,057 MW.

The company said its overall contracted portfolio stands at 8,370 MW, spanning:

  • Solar
  • Wind
  • Energy storage
  • FDRE
  • Hybrid renewable-energy projects

The company also operates in-house engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), as well as operations and maintenance (O&M) capabilities.

Why the Development Matters for Investors

The latest commissioning provides visibility into ACME Solar’s execution across both renewable generation and energy storage.

The solar commissioning adds operating capacity, while the BESS milestone strengthens the company’s exposure to India’s emerging large-scale storage market.

Another point to watch is the company’s planned commissioning schedule.

ACME Solar expects to commission the remaining 233.32 MW of solar capacity from the 300 MW project by the end of Q3 FY27, while the remaining BESS capacity is also expected to be commissioned during Q3 FY27.

Successful execution of these projects could further increase the company’s operational renewable and storage portfolio.

What Investors Should Track Next

For investors tracking ACME Solar, the key developments to watch include:

Further solar commissioning: The company has indicated that the full 300 MW solar capacity is expected to be operational by the end of Q3 FY27.

BESS expansion: The company plans to take the current 300 MWh commissioned phase toward the project’s total planned 1,581 MWh capacity.

FDRE execution: The development provides ACME Solar with exposure to firm and dispatchable renewable-energy solutions combining generation and storage.

Order book execution: With a contracted portfolio of 8,370 MW, the pace at which projects move from contracted capacity to operational assets will remain important.

Storage growth: The 4.16 GWh operational BESS portfolio puts energy storage among the key areas to monitor as ACME Solar expands its renewable-energy platform.

Bottom Line

ACME Solar’s latest commissioning is a tangible operational milestone, with 66.68 MW of additional solar capacity and 300 MWh of BESS capacity coming online in Rajasthan.

The development also takes the company’s operational renewable-energy capacity to approximately 3,057 MW and operational BESS capacity to 4.16 GWh.

The next major trigger will be the commissioning of the remaining solar and BESS capacity planned for Q3 FY27.

For investors, the focus now shifts from the commissioning announcement to execution, capacity additions, storage deployment, and the eventual financial contribution from the company’s expanding contracted portfolio.
