NSE IPO Listing Today: NSE Shares Debut at ₹1,800 on BSE
The much-awaited National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has made its stock-market debut today, September 24, 2026, with its shares listed on the BSE.
NSE shares opened at ₹1,800, compared with the IPO issue price of ₹1,785, marking a listing premium of around 0.8%.
The listing marks a significant milestone for India’s largest stock exchange, which has now become a publicly traded company.
NSE IPO Raised ₹22,568 Crore
The NSE IPO was priced in the range of ₹1,700 to ₹1,785 per share and closed with strong overall demand.
The issue was subscribed 5.71 times, receiving bids worth around ₹90,287 crore against the shares offered. The IPO consisted entirely of an offer for sale (OFS) by existing shareholders, meaning NSE itself does not receive fresh capital from the issue.
NSE Market Capitalisation Crosses ₹4.45 Lakh Crore
At the listing price of ₹1,800, NSE’s market capitalisation stood at approximately ₹4.45 lakh crore.
The listing also gives investors direct exposure to India’s exchange business, including trading, clearing and other market infrastructure activities.
Why the NSE Listing Matters
NSE’s public listing is notable because the exchange has remained one of India’s most important financial-market institutions while its shares were previously unavailable for regular exchange trading.
The IPO also comes with a relatively limited public float. Reuters reported that only around 5.48% of NSE’s pre-offer capital would be freely tradeable at launch, which could contribute to higher price movements as trading begins.
NSE Shares in Focus After Listing
After the initial debut, NSE shares moved above the listing price during early trading. At around midday, reports showed the stock trading higher than its ₹1,800 listing price.
The focus now shifts from the IPO listing to how the stock trades as a newly listed company and how investors value NSE relative to other listed market-infrastructure businesses.
What Investors Should Track
Following the listing, investors can monitor:
- NSE’s trading volumes and market share
- Cash and derivatives segment activity
- Revenue and profitability growth
- Regulatory developments affecting exchanges
- Competition from BSE
- Valuation compared with listed market-infrastructure companies
- Changes in NSE’s public shareholding and free float
Bottom Line
The NSE IPO has officially listed on the BSE at ₹1,800, compared with its ₹1,785 issue price. The ₹22,568-crore IPO was subscribed 5.71 times, making the listing one of the most closely watched market debuts of 2026.
