Real estate developer Omaxe has unveiled an ambitious plan to enter India’s fast-growing hospitality sector with an investment of around ₹6,200 crore over the next four to five years. The company aims to build a portfolio of 19 hotels across 13 cities in five states, marking one of its biggest diversification initiatives in recent years.
The upcoming hospitality projects will span nearly 5 million square feet and will be integrated with Omaxe’s existing townships, mixed-use developments, and commercial projects. Through this expansion, the company plans to capitalize on the rising demand for business travel, religious tourism, destination weddings, and premium leisure experiences.
Omaxe’s Hotel Expansion Plan
The majority of the new hotels will be developed in Uttar Pradesh, reflecting the state’s growing importance as a tourism and infrastructure hub.
Uttar Pradesh
Omaxe plans to develop 12 hotels in key cities, including:
- Ayodhya – 2 hotels
- Lucknow – 3 hotels
- Vrindavan – 2 hotels
- Kaushambi – 2 hotels
- Prayagraj – 1 hotel
- Ghaziabad – 1 hotel
- Gorakhpur – 1 hotel
Punjab and Chandigarh
The company will also develop four hotels across:
- Chandigarh
- Amritsar
- Ludhiana
Other Strategic Locations
Additional hotels are planned in:
- New Delhi
- Faridabad
- Ujjain
These locations have been selected to benefit from growing tourism, improved transportation infrastructure, and increasing business activity.
Gateway Hotel at The Omaxe State
One of the flagship projects under this expansion is a 158-room Gateway Hotel that will be operated by Indian Hotels Company Limited under its Gateway brand.
The hotel will be part of The Omaxe State in Dwarka, a 50.4-acre integrated destination featuring retail, sports, entertainment, and hospitality facilities.
The project is being developed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the Delhi Development Authority.
Partnership with UPSRTC
Omaxe is also collaborating with the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation to develop hospitality infrastructure at important transit locations across Uttar Pradesh.
The initiative is expected to improve accommodation options for travelers while supporting the state’s expanding transportation network.
Diverse Hospitality Portfolio
Instead of focusing on a single hotel category, Omaxe plans to build a diversified portfolio that includes:
- Midscale and upscale branded hotels
- Large pilgrimage hotels in religious destinations such as Ayodhya and Ujjain
- Luxury flagship hotels
- Branded serviced apartments for long-term stays
This strategy allows the company to serve multiple customer segments, including business travelers, tourists, pilgrims, corporate events, conferences, and destination weddings.
Revenue Potential
The ₹6,200 crore investment will be implemented in phases over the next several years.
Once the projects become operational and stabilize, Omaxe expects its hospitality business to generate around ₹1,000 crore in annual revenue, creating a significant new income stream alongside its real estate operations.
To strengthen its hospitality business, the company is also in advanced discussions with leading domestic and international hotel operators for branding and management partnerships.
