In a significant boost for India’s burgeoning electronics manufacturing sector, EPACK Durable Limited has announced a pivotal approval from the Andhra Pradesh Government. The company, a leading Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) of room air conditioners and diversified consumer durables, has secured a tailor-made incentive package under the state’s progressive Electronics Manufacturing Policy (4.0) for a combined proposed investment of an impressive ₹1,084.31 crore.
This massive investment, split between EPACK Durable’s direct contribution of ₹314.31 crore and its wholly-owned subsidiary EPACK Manufacturing Technologies Private Limited (EMTPL)’s ₹770 crore, is earmarked for substantially expanding manufacturing capabilities. The focus will be on a diverse portfolio including room air conditioners, components, small domestic appliances, washing machines, and televisions, reinforcing the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
The strategic approval, categorized under the Mega Category of the policy, includes attractive incentives:
- Land Allotment: 36.41 acres for a new manufacturing facility at ₹60 Lakh per acre.
- Capital Subsidy: A substantial 50% on eligible fixed capital investment for the combined project.
- Retroactive Benefits: Incentives extend to investments already made by EPACK Durable and EMTPL in Sri City since November 2024.
Mr. Ajay DD Singhania, Managing Director and CEO of EPACK Durable Limited, emphasized the strategic importance of Andhra Pradesh as a preferred destination. “This investment will not only bolster our capacity across various appliance categories but also create approximately 1,600 jobs in the state,” he stated, highlighting the company’s commitment to growth, operational efficiencies, and localization.
Building on its existing presence in Sri City, this expansion positions EPACK Durable to capitalize on the increasing demand for consumer durables, cementing its footprint and innovation in the rapidly evolving Indian market. This move underscores the company’s strategic vision and promises significant future dividends.
