JSW Energy Supercharges Green Growth with 1,081 MW Renewable Boost, Reaching 14.5 GW Total

JSW Energy Propels India’s Green Future with Major Capacity Expansion

In a significant stride towards a sustainable energy future, JSW Energy Limited has announced a remarkable acceleration in its operational capacity, commissioning a robust 1,081 MW of renewable energy since April 2026. This impressive expansion elevates the company’s total installed capacity to an imposing 14,535 MW, firmly cementing its position as a key player in India’s dynamic power sector.

The latest capacity boost underscores JSW Energy’s unwavering commitment to green power, with renewable sources now constituting a dominant 61% of its entire portfolio. The newly added capacity is a diverse and strategic mix, showcasing the company’s multi-pronged approach:

  • Solar: 442 MW
  • Wind: 108 MW
  • Hybrid: 381 MW
  • Hydro: 150 MW

Further demonstrating its forward-thinking approach, JSW Energy also commissioned a new wind blade manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, in June 2026. This strategic vertical integration enhances operational efficiency and supports approximately 600 MW of wind power installations annually, highlighting the company’s commitment to localized production and technological self-reliance within the renewable ecosystem.

Looking ahead, JSW Energy is clearly setting its sights on ambitious targets. The company remains firmly on track to achieve its FY2027 renewable capacity addition goal of 3 GW and is driving towards a monumental 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by 2030. Coupled with a bold pledge for carbon neutrality by 2050, these milestones position JSW Energy not just as a power producer, but as a vanguard in India’s pivotal energy transition, promising sustainable growth and significant long-term value creation for its stakeholders.
