ACME Solar Raises ₹1,571 Crore Project Funding from IIFCL for 300 MW Assured Peak Power Project

Gurugram, August 27, 2026: ACME Solar Holdings Limited has secured ₹1,571 crore in long-term project financing from India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL) for the construction and development of its 300 MW assured peak power project in Rajasthan.

The financing marks an important milestone for ACME Solar as it continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio, particularly in hybrid renewable power and battery energy storage solutions.

IIFCL Becomes Sole Lender for the Project

The ₹1,571 crore funding has been secured at a competitive interest rate, with IIFCL acting as the sole lender for the project. The financing carries a long repayment tenor of 19 years.

According to the company, this is IIFCL’s first sole greenfield financing for ACME Solar, making the transaction significant for both the company and its renewable energy expansion plans.

With this latest financing, ACME Solar’s total project financing secured during the current financial year has increased to ₹10,976 crore.

300 MW Assured Peak Power Project in Rajasthan

The project is being developed by ACME Renewtech Sixth and has a contracted capacity of 300 MW. Its Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has been signed with SECI Limited for 25 years at a tariff of ₹6.28 per unit.

The project is designed to combine renewable power generation with battery storage to provide more predictable and dispatchable electricity, addressing the growing demand for firm renewable power.

The project involves a total estimated capital expenditure of ₹2,123 crore and forms part of ACME Solar’s broader battery-storage capital deployment programme for the current financial year.

1,350 MWh Battery Storage Capacity

A key feature of the project is the integration of a 1,350 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) alongside solar generation.

The battery storage system is expected to help the project deliver assured peak power in line with its PPA obligations. By combining solar generation with energy storage, ACME Solar is targeting greater flexibility and predictability in renewable power supply.

Project Execution Progress

The project has already made progress on several critical infrastructure requirements.

According to ACME Solar, grid connectivity is operational, while the pooling substation and dedicated transmission line are at advanced stages of completion. Land acquisition for the project site is also substantially secured.

These developments position the project for timely construction and execution.

The entire project is being developed in Rajasthan, continuing ACME Solar’s focus on the state as a key location for its assured peak power and hybrid renewable energy projects.

ACME Solar’s Expanding Renewable Energy Portfolio

ACME Solar Holdings has a diversified renewable energy portfolio spanning solar, wind, energy storage, FDRE and hybrid solutions.

The company stated that its overall portfolio stands at approximately 8,370 MW, comprising:

  • 2,990 MW of operational contracted capacity
  • Approximately 3.62 GWh of BESS capacity
  • 5,380 MW of contracted capacity under construction
  • 4,010 MW of under-construction capacity backed by signed PPAs

The company also operates in-house engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) as well as operations and maintenance (O&M) capabilities. This integrated model allows ACME Solar to manage projects across development, construction and operations.

Why the Funding Matters for ACME Solar

The latest funding is important for ACME Solar as the company continues to scale its renewable energy and battery storage portfolio.

The combination of long-term project financing, a 25-year PPA with SECI and substantial battery storage capacity provides a framework for developing assured renewable power projects capable of delivering electricity during peak demand periods.

The ₹10,976 crore of financing secured during the current financial year also highlights the company’s ongoing capital deployment toward its growing project pipeline.
