TVS Holdings Subsidiary Home Credit India Acquires Varthana Finance, Bolstering Education Lending
TVS Holdings Limited has announced a strategic expansion of its financial services business through the proposed acquisition of Varthana Finance Private Limited, a non-banking financial company (NBFC) focused on education finance.
The acquisition will be carried out through Home Credit India Finance Private Limited, a subsidiary of TVS Holdings, which has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) to acquire 100% equity in Varthana Finance.
The transaction remains subject to approvals from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other statutory authorities.
Acquisition Details
Following completion of the transaction, Varthana Finance will become a wholly-owned step-down subsidiary of TVS Holdings.
The acquisition is aimed at strengthening the group’s presence in the fast-growing financial services sector while expanding its lending portfolio into the education financing segment.

Varthana Finance, formerly known as Thirumeni Finance Private Limited, is an NBFC that specializes in providing financial solutions to educational institutions across India.
Its lending portfolio includes financing for:

- Educational institutions

The company has established a strong presence in the education finance market by supporting institutions with customized credit solutions.
