Stocks to Watch on August 12, 2026: Jupiter Wagons, KPI Green Energy, Zen Technologies, Apollo Hospitals, Hindustan Aeronautics, Grasim & More

Indian equity benchmarks head into Wednesday’s session after a subdued Tuesday, with crude oil volatility around the Strait of Hormuz situation continuing to set the tone for sentiment. Here’s what’s likely to drive stock-specific action on August 12.

Market Setup

The Sensex and Nifty 50 struggled for direction through Monday and Tuesday as a sharp rise in Brent crude — briefly touching $88 a barrel on renewed uncertainty over a US-Iran deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz — kept investors cautious. The Nifty 50 has been holding just below the 24,600 mark, while the Sensex has stayed anchored near the 78,500–79,000 band. FIIs turned net buyers in the last session even as DIIs booked some profits, a flow pattern worth tracking as Q1 FY27 earnings season rolls on.

Asian markets opened mixed on Tuesday, with Korea’s Kospi under pressure and Hong Kong holding steady, while Wall Street closed marginally lower overnight on chipmaker weakness. Traders will watch whether crude cools off and whether GIFT Nifty futures point to a firmer open on Wednesday morning

Here are the key stocks to watch on August 12.

1. Jupiter Wagons: ₹211 Crore Orders and BESS Opportunity

Jupiter Wagons Limited could remain in focus after securing orders worth more than ₹211 crore from JSW Group and OASPL.

The company also announced two battery energy storage system initiatives worth around ₹400 crore. Management is targeting a BESS order book of approximately ₹1,000 crore by FY27, according to reports.

The combination of railway orders and energy-storage opportunities gives the stock two separate growth themes to watch.

Stock watch: Jupiter Wagons

2. KPI Green Energy: Q1 Profit Decline

KPI Green Energy Limited witnessed selling pressure after reporting a decline in Q1 FY27 profit.

The company’s net profit fell 17% year-on-year to ₹86 crore, with elevated input costs cited as a key factor. The shares declined around 9% on Tuesday following the results.

Investors will watch whether the stock sees further selling or attempts a recovery after the sharp reaction.

Stock watch: KPI Green Energy

3. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility: Strong Price Action

Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited was among the notable gainers on Tuesday.

The stock rose more than 6%, touching an intraday high of ₹961.70. Trading volume was also significantly higher than its 30-day average, according to DSIJ data.

The strong price and volume action makes Amara Raja a stock worth monitoring for continuation or profit-booking on Wednesday.

Stock watch: Amara Raja Energy & Mobility

4. Zen Technologies:

The defence electronics company secured a ₹295-crore order from the Ministry of Defence, adding to its order book and keeping defence-sector sentiment constructive.

Q1 FY27 Results Today

Hindustan Aeronautics, Grasim Industries, Tata Motors, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises, GMR Airports, Lenskart Solutions, Petronet LNG, IRCTC, Arvind, EID Parry (India), BLACK BOX, Va Tech Wabag, Ircon International, TITAGARH RAIL SYSTEMS

Sector Watch

With crude prices elevated, oil marketing companies and paint makers (input-cost sensitive) could see relative underperformance, while upstream energy plays may hold up better. Defence and shipbuilding stocks have been among the stronger movers this week and may continue to see interest given the Zen Technologies order flow and broader sector momentum.

What to Track at the Open

  • GIFT Nifty direction and Brent crude levels first thing in the morning
  • FII/DII provisional data from Tuesday’s session
  • Any board-meeting reschedules on today’s results list, which occasionally shift at the last minute
