TCS & Google Cloud Ignite Consumer AI Innovation with New Kolkata Gemini Center

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has strengthened its artificial intelligence capabilities with the launch of a new Consumer Business Group (CBG) Gemini Experience Center (GEC) in Kolkata, developed in collaboration with Google Cloud. The new facility is aimed at helping enterprises accelerate the adoption of AI-powered solutions across the retail, consumer goods, and hospitality industries.

The announcement marks another milestone in TCS’s strategy to expand its global AI innovation ecosystem and support businesses in deploying next-generation AI technologies at scale.

AI Innovation Hub for Consumer-Focused Industries

The Kolkata-based Gemini Experience Center will serve as a collaborative innovation hub where enterprises can design, test, and scale AI solutions built on Google Cloud’s Gemini models.

The center will primarily support organizations operating in:

  • Retail
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
  • Travel, Tourism and Hospitality (TTH)

The initiative focuses on enabling businesses to move beyond proof-of-concept projects and implement production-ready AI solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

Expanding TCS’s Global AI Network

The new facility is TCS’s eighth Gemini Experience Center worldwide and the third in India. The company plans to expand the network to 10 Gemini Experience Centers globally by the end of 2026, reinforcing its commitment to enterprise AI adoption.

The growing network is designed to provide customers with dedicated spaces to co-create innovative AI applications tailored to industry-specific challenges.

Focus on Agentic AI

A key objective of the new center is to accelerate the adoption of agentic AI—AI systems capable of making intelligent decisions and executing tasks with greater autonomy.

By combining Google’s advanced AI models with TCS’s industry expertise, the center will help businesses develop solutions for:

  • Smarter retail operations
  • Supply chain optimization
  • Omnichannel customer experiences
  • Personalized marketing
  • Intelligent customer service
  • Data-driven business decision-making

The initiative also leverages TCS’s Human+AI Autonomy framework, which integrates human expertise with AI-driven automation to improve business efficiency and innovation.

Leadership Commentary

According to Shivir Chordia, Director of Partnerships, India, Google Cloud, industry-focused AI solutions are already helping enterprises accelerate value creation by enabling faster deployment of AI technologies.

Murali Ramanathan, Chief Technology Officer, Consumer Business Group at TCS, said the new Gemini Experience Center will empower organizations to unlock the full potential of AI while enabling innovation across consumer-focused industries.
