Cochin Shipyard Wins ₹2,000+ Crore Mega Order for Six LNG-Powered Container Vessels

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has announced a Mega Order, valued at over ₹2,000 Crore, from a leading European client for the design and construction of six feeder container vessels.

Each vessel will have a capacity of around 1,700 TEU and will be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), highlighting CSL’s growing expertise in sustainable and energy-efficient shipbuilding.

A Letter of Intent (LOI) for the project was signed on October 14, 2025, with the formal shipbuilding contract—covering detailed techno-commercial terms—to be finalized soon.

This order, received in the normal course of business, strengthens CSL’s global presence and reinforces India’s position in the international shipbuilding market.
