Suzlon Energy Secures New 250 MW Wind Order from Torrent Green Energy; Partnership Crosses 1.3 GW

Suzlon Energy Limited has announced a new 250 MW wind power order from Torrent Green Energy, a company of the Torrent Group. The latest order strengthens the long-standing partnership between Suzlon and Torrent and takes their cumulative business relationship to more than 1.3 GW.

The order marks the sixth order from Torrent and expands the partnership across three important wind-energy markets: Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

Suzlon to Supply 76 Wind Turbines

Under the latest order, Suzlon will supply 76 S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs). The turbines have a rated capacity of 3.3 MW each, making the project an important addition to Suzlon’s growing order pipeline.

Along with the wind turbines, Suzlon will provide grid integration services and long-term Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services through its Asset Management Services (AMS) business.

The new order also strengthens Suzlon’s presence in Madhya Pradesh, which the company sees as an emerging growth market for wind energy.

Suzlon Receives Over 1.1 GW of Orders in FY27 So Far

The Torrent order comes amid strong business momentum for Suzlon. The company said it has secured more than 1.1 GW of new orders so far in FY27.

The continued order inflow highlights the growing demand for renewable energy capacity in India and provides visibility for Suzlon’s wind turbine manufacturing, project execution and long-term maintenance businesses.

For investors, sustained order inflows are an important factor to watch because they can support future revenue visibility and strengthen the company’s execution pipeline.

Torrent-Suzlon Partnership Crosses 1.3 GW

The latest 250 MW order takes the total capacity covered under the Suzlon-Torrent partnership to approximately 1,306 MW.

The relationship between the two companies has developed over more than a decade, with projects now spanning Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

Suzlon Vice Chairman Girish Tanti said the company’s success should be measured not only by individual orders but also by long-term customer partnerships. He highlighted the company’s relationship with Torrent as one of its significant customer partnerships.

Suzlon Group CEO Ajay Kapur said customer confidence remains a key strength for the company and pointed to the 1.1 GW of orders secured in FY27 as evidence of continued business momentum. He also highlighted Madhya Pradesh as an increasingly important market for wind energy.

Why This Order Matters for Suzlon

The new Torrent order is significant for Suzlon for several reasons:

  • 250 MW new order adds to the company’s FY27 order pipeline.
  • 1,306 MW cumulative partnership with Torrent demonstrates strong repeat business.
  • 76 S144 turbines will be supplied under the latest project.
  • Projects span Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
  • Suzlon will provide long-term O&M and grid integration services, extending its involvement beyond turbine supply.
  • The company has secured more than 1.1 GW of new orders in FY27 so far.

The combination of new turbine orders and long-term asset-management services can provide Suzlon with both project execution opportunities and recurring service revenue.

Suzlon’s Renewable Energy Business

Suzlon is an India-based renewable energy company focused primarily on wind energy. According to the company’s release, Suzlon had more than 22,000 MW of installed wind energy capacity across 17 countries.

For FY26, the company reported revenues of more than US$1.75 billion, while its market capitalisation stood at more than US$8 billion as of 30 June 2026.

Its business portfolio spans wind technology, solar, storage, renewable energy development, renewable energy projects and asset management services.

Suzlon Energy Stock: What Investors Should Watch

For Suzlon Energy investors, the latest Torrent order adds another positive development to the company’s FY27 order-flow story. The key factors to monitor going forward will be the pace of new order wins, execution of the existing order book, turbine deliveries, project commissioning and growth in long-term operations and maintenance services.

The company’s ability to convert its strong order pipeline into revenue and profitability will remain important for determining the longer-term impact of the current order momentum.

Bottom Line

Suzlon Energy’s 250 MW order from Torrent Green Energy strengthens a partnership that has now crossed 1.3 GW across three states. With more than 1.1 GW of new orders secured in FY27 so far, the company continues to build momentum in India’s expanding renewable energy market.

The latest order also reinforces Suzlon’s position as a major wind energy solutions provider while increasing its presence in Madhya Pradesh, an emerging market for wind power development.
