Tera Software Limited Wins Rs. 3,022 Crore BharatNet Project Contracts for Phase-3 Middle Mile Network

Tera Software Limited, in collaboration with ITI Limited, has won two packages under BharatNet Project Phase-3 for the Middle Mile Network, covering Himachal Pradesh (Package No. 8) and West Bengal & Andaman & Nicobar (Package No. 9). The combined value of these contracts amounts to Rs. 3,022 crores.

BharatNet Project Overview:

  • Objective: BharatNet aims to bridge India’s “digital divide” by delivering high-speed broadband (100 Mbps) to all Gram Panchayats (GPs) and villages, facilitating equitable access to online services, especially in rural areas.
  • Scope: The initiative will connect 640,000 villages, blocks, and GPs nationwide with high-speed internet.
  • Funding: Supported by the Digital Bharat Nidhi (Universal Service Obligation Fund) under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
  • Model: Phase-3 employs a Design, Build, Operate, and Maintain (DBOM) model for the Middle Mile Network.

Tera Software Limited’s Involvement:

  • Tera Software is uniquely experienced in all three phases of BharatNet, having previously executed projects in Andhra Pradesh (Phase I) and Odisha (Phase II).
  • In Phase-3, Tera Software will handle the design, supply, construction, installation, upgrade, operation, and maintenance of the Middle Mile Network in the awarded regions.

Winning these contracts reinforces Tera Software Limited’s expertise in broadband connectivity and its commitment to reducing India’s digital divide.
