Godrej Industries Group Signs MoU with Haryana Government for ₹20,000 Crore Investment, Eyes 40,000 Jobs

Godrej Industries Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Haryana for a proposed investment of approximately ₹20,000 crore in the state. The investment plan has the potential to create around 40,000 jobs across various businesses of the Group.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and reflects the Group’s plans to expand its presence across residential real estate, commercial infrastructure and other business segments in the state.

Godrej Industries Has Invested ₹12,000 Crore in Haryana

Godrej Industries Group said it has invested approximately ₹12,000 crore in Haryana to date and currently employs around 9,000 people across its businesses in the state.

The proposed ₹20,000 crore investment is expected to build on this existing presence and support further economic and urban development in Haryana.

Godrej Properties Plans ₹16,000 Crore Investment

Godrej Properties Limited (GPL) is expected to be one of the key drivers of the Group’s investment plans.

The real estate company has invested approximately ₹11,000 crore in Haryana so far and plans to invest a further ₹16,000 crore by FY28.

Godrej Properties currently has 18 projects across:

  • Gurugram
  • Sonipat
  • Faridabad
  • Panipat
  • Kurukshetra

The company’s future projects are expected to create more than 11,000 jobs.

The planned investment highlights the company’s continued focus on Haryana’s residential real estate market, particularly as Gurugram and other urban centres continue to expand.

Godrej Ventures to Invest ₹3,500 Crore in Gurugram

Godrej Ventures, the Group’s real estate private equity business, has already invested around ₹1,000 crore in Haryana.

The company plans to invest an additional ₹3,500 crore in Grade A+ office infrastructure in Gurugram.

The proposed commercial real estate investments are expected to generate more than 30,000 direct and indirect jobs and support Gurugram’s position as a major commercial hub for multinational companies and Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

Godrej Capital and Godrej Consumer Products Presence

The Group’s financial services and consumer businesses also have an established presence in Haryana.

Godrej Capital currently operates five branches in the state and has facilitated approximately ₹550 crore in bookings through its financing business.

Meanwhile, Godrej Consumer Products has a distribution network comprising 42 direct distributors and more than 250 rural stockists across Haryana.

This provides the Group with a diversified business presence extending beyond real estate.

CSR and Infrastructure Initiatives in Haryana

Godrej Industries Group also highlighted its contribution to community and infrastructure initiatives in Haryana.

The Group spends approximately ₹1 crore annually on CSR initiatives and more than ₹10 crore on infrastructure-level initiatives in the state.

Its initiatives include support systems for construction workers, weather-related insurance and the restoration and beautification of public spaces in Karnal and Kurukshetra.

What the Haryana Investment Means for Investors

The proposed investment plan could have significance for investors tracking Godrej Group companies, particularly Godrej Properties, given the size of its planned investment in Haryana.

The expansion could increase the company’s development pipeline and strengthen its exposure to Gurugram and other growing urban markets in the state.

However, investors should note that the ₹20,000 crore figure represents a proposed investment plan under an MoU, rather than an immediate capital expenditure or confirmed revenue/profit addition. The actual investments, project launches and financial impact will depend on project execution, approvals, market conditions and other factors.

Haryana Emerges as a Key Growth Market

Godrej Industries Group said Haryana has become an important growth market due to its economic depth, urbanisation and the emergence of Gurugram as a major commercial and employment centre.

The planned investments cover both residential and commercial real estate, while the Group’s existing presence in consumer products and financial services provides additional business exposure to the state.

The investment plan also reflects the Group’s stated confidence in Haryana as a long-term investment destination.

Godrej Industries Group’s Business Portfolio

Godrej Industries Group operates across several sectors, including:

  • FMCG
  • Real estate
  • Financial services
  • Agriculture
  • Chemicals

The Group reported FY26 revenue of USD 7.2 billion and had a market capitalisation of approximately USD 19 billion as of March 31, 2026, according to the company’s release.

The Group serves more than 1.4 billion people globally and has businesses across multiple consumer and industrial categories.
