Pace Digitek Subsidiary Crosses 300 BESS Container Milestone, Plans Major Capacity Expansion
Pace Digitek Limited has announced a significant milestone in its clean energy business, with its material subsidiary Lineage Power Private Limited (LPPL) successfully manufacturing 300 utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) containers. The achievement represents approximately 1.5 GWh of deployed battery energy storage capacity, reinforcing the company’s growing presence in India’s rapidly expanding energy storage market.
The milestone comes as demand for battery storage solutions continues to rise, driven by the increasing integration of renewable energy into the power grid and the need for reliable, large-scale energy storage infrastructure.
Key Manufacturing and Expansion Highlights
To cater to the growing requirements of utilities, renewable energy developers, and commercial customers, Pace Digitek is undertaking a major expansion of its manufacturing capabilities.
Key developments include:
- 300 utility-scale BESS containers successfully manufactured, representing nearly 1.5 GWh of battery storage capacity.
- Expansion of the existing manufacturing facility by an additional 2.5 GWh, doubling the current operational capacity of 2.5 GWh.
- Development of a new 5 GWh greenfield BESS manufacturing facility to significantly enhance long-term production capacity.
- Establishment of an in-house container fabrication unit as part of its backward integration strategy, aimed at improving cost efficiencies, strengthening supply chain resilience, and accelerating project execution.
- Continued focus on providing a fully integrated BESS platform encompassing engineering, manufacturing, system integration, EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), and long-term Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services.
Strengthening Position in India’s Energy Storage Market
Battery Energy Storage Systems are becoming increasingly critical for maintaining grid stability and enabling greater adoption of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. As utilities seek reliable storage solutions to balance intermittent power generation, demand for large-scale BESS installations is expected to grow substantially.
With its integrated manufacturing ecosystem and end-to-end execution capabilities, Pace Digitek is strategically positioned to serve utilities, renewable energy developers, and industrial customers with comprehensive energy storage solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Management Commentary
Commenting on the achievement, Venugopal Rao Maddisetty, Chairman & Managing Director of Pace Digitek Limited, said that crossing the milestone of 300 utility-scale BESS containers reflects the company’s growing expertise in engineering, manufacturing, and project execution.
He added that the ongoing investments in manufacturing expansion, technology, and backward integration will further strengthen Pace Digitek’s ability to deliver large-scale battery energy storage solutions while supporting India’s transition toward a cleaner and more resilient energy ecosystem.
