This project, valued at ₹325.33 crore (including GST), encompasses the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of Kavach over 688 Route Kilometers (RKM) in the Kharagpur and Chakradharpur divisions.

The ‘Kavach’ system is an indigenous ATP technology designed to enhance railway safety by preventing signal passing at danger and overspeeding. Kernex Microsystems, leading the KERNEX-MRT Consortium, will undertake this project to bolster operational safety and efficiency in the specified sections of South Eastern Railway.
