Kernex Microsystems (India) Limited has been awarded a significant contract by South Eastern Railway for the implementation of the ‘Kavach’ Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system. This project, valued at ₹325.33 crore (including GST), encompasses the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of Kavach over 688 Route Kilometers (RKM) in the Kharagpur and Chakradharpur divisions.

Project Overview

The ‘Kavach’ system is an indigenous ATP technology designed to enhance railway safety by preventing signal passing at danger and overspeeding. Kernex Microsystems, leading the KERNEX-MRT Consortium, will undertake this project to bolster operational safety and efficiency in the specified sections of South Eastern Railway.
